Great American Rock N Roll

In honor of today being such a historical day in American history, I've decided to take the time to dedicate to the greatest American Rock 'N Rollers of all time.

Now it may seem the other parts of the world have an upper hand in the greatest rock bands, The U.K. has The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Australia has AC/DC, Ireland has U2, Germany has The Scorpions. Ok, but maybe not that last one, but still theres alot of great rock stars from across the seas, but the greatest ones are from the USA.

Chuck Berry - Screw Elvis, Chuck Berry is the REAL king of rock n roll. His music is responsible for what rock is today, and turned the genre around. He is an amazing song writer, musician, and performer. He has influenced from one from Bob Dylan to Angus Young. John Lennon said it best him self "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'."

Jimi Hendrix - With the ground work already laid now for him by Berry, Hendrix took a guitar and did things that no one had ever heard before or will hear again. I will personally go on record to say he's the greatest guitarist of all time. His music was peaceful, yet hard rockin' and will forever be a legend. Sadly he was taken to soon.

Aerosmith - With the outbreak of bands like The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and The Rolling Stones from Britain in the 70s, who did the US have? That's right Aerosmith and their nickname "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band" holds through. Lead by the powerful, static vocals of Steven Tyler and the sick riffs of Joe Perry, Aerosmith is a band the starting rocking hard and continues to, to this very day. With their original line up, too.

The Ramones - One of the first, and the best punk bands of all time, The Ramones rebelled against "rock" and had a bad ass, Do It Yourself attitude. Their songs were quick and simple, yet heavy and awesome. And while simple as they may have been the songs are still stuck in people's heads today. Loud Fast Rules!

Nirvana - Many people don't like Nirvana for some reason. But look around and see all the people wearing Kurt Cobain shirts. They were the music for an entire Generation and lead grunge music into the mainstream. Plus, they had great, amazing music. Even if you don't like them (which you should), you can't deny their influence on rock.

Currently Listening To: You Really Got Me - Van Halen
